Hole #1
The opening drive possesses few dangers - a good way to start the round. Your second must avoid a water hazard on the left and a bunker front right. For shorter hitters we suggest a lay up to the left edge of the green.
Hole #2
A tight tree line fairway requires a straight tee shot on one of our tougher Par 4's. The second shot should present you with a downhill shot to a large flat green with a bunker on the right hand side. The green is very wide but not so deep club selection is critical.
Hole #3
A simple Par 5 if your drive avoids the water on the right side and the mounds on the left of the fairway. Three good shots by all standards of golfers will have you safely on the green. A bunker on the right and a water hazard to the left of the green will put a little pressure on your approach shot.
Hole #4
A conventional Par 3 with bunkers protecting the right and left sides of the green. Don't be long as behind the green slopes away quite sharply making for a difficult return chip.
Hole #5
The 5th Hole is one of our signature holes as it can be played in different ways because of the risk reward factor. It's a dogleg right hole featuring a water filled burn some 40 metres from a well bunkered green. Taking the driver is fraught with danger as there is a water hazard some 200 metres from the tee if you hit through the dogleg. If you succeed placing your drive around the corner you can then reach the green for 2 if you have the nerve to take on the burn. Otherwise you will have to lay up and play a pitching shot into a lovely green slopping from back to front.
Hole #6
This is our only hole with a water carry to be negotiated off the tee. The hole shapes slightly left to right with water along the right hand side of the hole for the last 150 metres. The green is protected with a mound at the front right and a bunker on the left hand side. Even though the hole is a relatively short Par 4 it is rated our 5th most difficult. However a well place drive will give all golfers a good opportunity to make par.
Hole #7
This hole sets up right to left. Your second shot to one of the smaller greens on the course is a tough one with bunkers right and left and a water hazard to the left of the fairway some 50 metres from the green.
Hole #8
A classic dogleg hole to the left confronts you as you stand on the tee. A drive of 200 metres will get you past the corner and leave you with a short approach to a narrow green with bunkers on the front left and to the right of the green. if you don't make the dogleg a well manufactured shot through or over the trees is required. A pin point shot is required to hold the shallow green and avoid a deep swale at the back of the green.
Hole #9
A classic Par 3 up hill to a large green with a bunker front right. When the "nor easter" is blowing the hole plays very long. Hitting the green in regulation won't guarantee you a two putt par as the green slopes severely from back to front and if you leave yourself above the hole be careful that your next putt is not from off the green.
Hole #10
The start of our "Amen Corner" - our 10th, 11th & 12th holes can make or break your round. Walking to the 13th tee Par Par Par means your have just played some terrific golf or had a load of good fortune. A straight drive here is well rewarded as the fairway is down hill for the first 300 metres. The hole shapes left to right and the last 150 metres are uphill to a small green with no bunkers.
Hole #11
A daunting tee shot with a large dam in view inviting a wayward drive to the left its grave. The carry to the water is 180 metres. The hole shapes from left to right and any over correction will see you negotiating the trees on the right. The water extends all the way down the left side of the fairway to the green . Bunkers on the right and left guard one of the courses best greens. It has a tier in the middle of the green and depending on the pin placement your first putt could be a nightmare.
Hole #12
A tough tee shot with our of bounds all the way along the left side of the fairway. The hole plays longer than its yardage as the last 150 metres are up quite a steep hill to a long narrow green which is somewhat blind and slopes dramatically downward from back to front. Bunkers are located on the right and left hand side of the green. This is the number one hole on the card - it's easier to write about than play! There is also a fairway bunker some 40 meters from the green waiting to swallow a mishit approach.
Hole #13
Still happy? Relax - a gentle downhill Par 3 to a large heart shaped green awaits you. That is unless you stray right or left into 2 challenging bunkers.
Hole #14
This hole brings you back to the clubhouse for a second time. A tight driving hole where length is not as critical as accuracy. With out of bounds up the left hand side of the hole, keeping the ball in play is vital to shooting a good score on this hole. This hole is another where it is so important to stay below the flag as the green slopes sharply from back to front, however if your approach shot lands just short of the green your ball may roll down a sloping front apron. Depending on conditions it can be our trickiest green with a 4 putt a realistic possibility for the unwary.Hole #15
A downhill Par 3 with a large bunker well short of the green. Bailing out left or right will leave you with a difficult pitch to a relatively flat green - so go for it! A relatively easy looking hole, but par is still a good score here.
Hole #16
A relatively simple Par 5 with a slight dogleg near the green. Your only danger on this hole are the trees, with no water, no bunkers and a flat green. Any more than a six is disappointing.
Hole #17
This seemingly innocuous hole hugs the boundary fence along the Pacific Highway - anything too far right is out of bounds and reload. The elevated green is long and narrow with a recently constructed mound on the right. The surrounds of the front, left and back of the green slope away severely so an accurate tee shot is required.
Hole #18
The 18th is a dogleg to the right that presents little trouble except for out of bounds all the way up the right side of the hole. Two good shots will have you playing your approach up hill to the 18th green in the shadows of the clubhouse. We hope you enjoyed your round and invite you to enjoy a cool drink at the 19th.
